NYC Doggystyle Policies


General Policies

  • Office hours are 9am-7.30pm on weekdays. Communication past office hours or on weekends are reserved for emergency response only.

  • Bookings and cancellations for walks must be submitted before the end of office hours at 7.30pm the day before. Cancellations for walk services for the following day made outside of office hours (7.30pm-8am) are subject to a 50% charge of the service. Same day cancellations after 8am are subject to the full charge of the service.

  • Short-notice bookings for walks are subject to the availability of our team and an $8 charge. Please book through the portal before our office closing time 7.30pm Mon-Friday, with as much notice as possible to ensure you receive the service and time you need.

  • Cancellations for hikes must be submitted before 3pm the day before. Cancellations for hikes submitted between 3pm - 7.30pm the day before are subject to a 50% charge of the booking, Cancellations submitted after 7.30pm the day before/same day of hike are subject to 100% charge of the booking.

  • Services are subject to a standard automatic 8.875% sales tax.

  • If your NYC Doggystyle walker shows up for a service and your pup is not home / you forgot to cancel, you will be charged for the full visit.

  • NYC Doggystyle staff must have access to the apartment/home, either with a spare set of keys provided by the client or through doorman/key code entry. Please have your building’s door staff put “NYC Doggystyle” on file for easier and faster entry.

  • The length of walk you select is measured from when we arrive at the building to when we leave. Any extra feeding, medication, cleaning up accidents, applying cold weather gear for pups, etc. is included in the walk time.

  • Providing NYC Doggystyle with an extra set of keys (as opposed to a lockbox or a doorman) will mean more walk time for your pups.

  • If your dog takes extra time to leash up, this is also included in the total visit time. Leaving a harness/collar on for your walker will mean more walk time for your pup.

  • Our staff will clean up any pet accidents or messes for an $8 charge. If you wish to decline this service, please specify with us.

  • We are fully insured through Pet Sitters Associates, and our certificate is available for viewing upon request.

  • We assume your dog can and wants to be walked with other dogs. If this is not the case and your dog specifically needs a solo walk, please note that in your service requests under the “notes” section. There is an $8 surcharge for guaranteed solo walks.

  • We walk in all weather conditions - rain, snow, or shine! if your pet has a restriction on walking in certain weather conditions, please make a specific note in your pet’s profile.

  • In the event of extreme weather (hurricane, tornado, blizzard, temperatures below 10 degrees), it may be necessary to adjust or cancel walks for the safety of our staff and your pets. You will be notified of any changes in this regard, and the shortened time can be made up with cuddles and playtime inside.

  • Additionally, any necessary supplies for your pet should be left out for our walkers, such as a rain jacket, booties, and towels for drying off your wet pup.

  • We do not offer an in-house training program. However, we are happy to work alongside you and your pup with any training methods your are currently using.

  • We strongly advise providing us with vet details in your profile in case of emergency.

  • We provide all NYC Doggystyle walkers with compostable poop bags from “pet n pet”. We are also in the process of designing environmentally friendly merchandise, that will include free delivery and a donation to an environmental protection charity of your choice. Stay tuned!


Overnights (Sitting & Boarding)

  • Our NYC Doggystyle staff host overnight pups in their homes, and this service is subject to availability.

  • Includes three x 30 minute walks a day, a potty break before bed, feeding and water, medication if necessary, a comfortable bed, and a loving, playful environment.

  • The Overnight time frame is 24 hours, pick-up to drop-off. There is an additional charge for half days, which is 6+ hours beyond the 24 hour period (+50% of the overnight price).

  • Our pack leaders are full time walkers, and will most likely be visiting other pups during overnight stays. while our staff will spend as much time as they can with overnight pups, sitting can be a very solitary job and NYC Doggystyle encourages its staff to take a little downtime as well.

  • Pick-up and drop-off fees are based on zoning of our two locations (see pricing under “BOOK NOW”).

  • All NYC Doggystyle staff live with roommates who love pets, and also love a peaceful home. For this reason, we reserve the right to decline overnight boarding services for pets that exhibit significant aggression, a lack of potty training, or excessive barking.

  • For the latter, we have two different types of bark collars on hand that may be used with the consent of the owner. Both types of collars are humane and non-shock based, using citronella spray or vibration to deter excessive barking.

  • in the event of damage/destruction of property (from chewing, etc.) that requires replacement, the charge will be added to the booking AND a receipt WILL BE PROVIDED.


Communication & Payment

  • A photo of your lovely pet is included with each service.

  • We prefer using imessage for sending photos and videos of your pup.

  • Preferred payment method is through Zelle direct bank transfer. We also accept payment by check, direct bank transfer processed through our client portal, Venmo or credit card.

  • Invoices will be sent out on the 1st of each month, for services booked in the month prior.

  • In order to keep our prices competitive and provide the best service experience, we encourage our clients to use monthly direct bank transfer for payment, as it incurs less transaction fees.
